There are different formulations of paints for indoor and outdoor. If you paint a room in your house, you'll want to use an interior paint on the walls. Interior paints are available in several versions, from matte to glossy, including flat (or matte), eggshell, satin, satin and glossy available.

The ceilings are usually painted on a flat surface that helps hide the deficiencies again.

Satin finish
A popular all-around choice is the satin finish. It offers the best of both worlds. It has a little more than eggshell, without gloss, and it is still hiding a pretty good job, gaps in the wall. It is easy to clean, making it suitable for casting. It also works very well in heavily trafficked areas and children's rooms because it can stand up to a light scrub.
Semi-Gloss Finish
Sliding scale, gloss, satin is generally considered a bit of a shiny surface of the walls, but it works well for cabinets and doors. It can also work on trim and moldings, especially in the more used parts of the house.
Shiny surface
The smooth surface is completely polished for walls, but still works well for cabinets and doors and furniture. Realize, however, that if you are a high-gloss varnish, a few small defects in the surface that you will get the painting is displayed. Therefore, if you have a shiny surface, it is really important to start with a clean surface.
Exteriors
When painting the exterior of the house you will find a color. These coatings are formulated by the harsh elements of weather. Not so long ago exterior paints were oil paints exclusively, but over the past two decades, new water-based formulations are as good as or sometimes even better than the old oil-based house paints. While oil is certainly still an option in the painting, use it more difficult to require solvents to clean and dry when they release harmful gases. Water-based paints clean up easily with water, and has hardly any smell at all. But either type of paint used for a program in the open.
Exterior Latex
The use of latex, water-based paint is preferred in general because the paint more elasticity, and as a result, resists cracking and peeling over time. It is mildew resistant and not "chalk" as easily as oil paint. It dries much faster than oil, and it is around easier to use.
When you paint, always prepare your surfaces with caution, since your paint is only as good as the weakest layer.
